I Can Ride by Myself!
Wow! What a crazy, glorious finish we had to the end of 2009! After Marshall's birthday, we celebrated Hunter's re-adoption and formal change of name, Lily's birthday, her Christmas pageant (she was the cow), a visit from Bro Dave and family, Christmas cookie festivities with Jim and Vicky, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve complete with fireworks at Jim and Vicky's house!
Some funny and memorable moments - Lily spotted the "easy" button in the judge's chambers at Hunter's readoption hearing. He knew she was dying to push it so at the end, he let her crawl under his desk to push it! We set the table for Christmas dinner with Christmas cookies the kids made as place holders. This was the Christmas of Nintendo DS in our house and Marshall helped Lily and Hunter figure out their new games. Hunter was overjoyed with the whole idea of Christmas. For a few days after he kept asking "No more Christmas?! Why not, Mom?!" Hunter achieved his 2010 goals in 2 days. On January 1, he learned to ride his bike without training wheels (which took him all of 3 tries before he got it) and on January 2, he learned to tie his shoes by himself (which took him maybe 15 minutes to learn). We need to set some more challenging goals!
We spent time at the beach after Christmas before it got way too chilly. This past week has been some brutal winter weather for this neck of the woods but its not Alaska or Iowa! :) Happy New Year to you and yours! Next up - Chinese New Year and Tet!
